Earth bolt on clio 53reg

When i open the boot on my clio there are two bolts behind the rear seats you can see them straight away can they be used as earth points has anyone done this?

Thanks!

Cool, they looked they might do but just wanted to check, suppsoe thats going to be as good a place as any aint it?

Putting all the cables in on thursday, power, rcas and trigger, anyone had any promblems? there anything i should be aware of or any tips or tricks on the best way to do it?

Thanks again

Dave

No they hold a metal thin in behind the seats. You can also use the rear lights earths which is under the plastic thing in the front of the boot.

i dont think they do. that metal thing is welded

cos i wos going to use the same bolts but i decided against it

remove the luggage rail from the front (nearest seats) of the boot

this will give you more to play with, betweeen the split folding seats there is a 10mm nut, which i have found to be the best place for the earth

using earths that are used by other electrical accessories can often be disasterous as it seems do induce lots of distortion through them amps into the speakers

^ i heard this but tried it anyway - the earth for the back light - it dont effect my amp in the slightest - but then again it may do for other amps ect.

dont do it to there. ive fone it but the bolts have coating on them, like a gold , it wont erth properly. ive earthed mine behind my clusters on the metal. easier and guaranteed to get a decent earth.

i know from experience. i used to get my amp cutting out and all sorts. just do it to the rear light clusters or drill behind the clusters.. hope that helps.

If you feel along the inside of the boot to the right and left of the light clusters, you will find two holes in the upholstery and thru them two bolts, which are greased and untreated. I have used them on past cars, and the current boot install is professionally fitted and the fitter used them too. Never had any problems in 2.5 years of Clio ownership, and two different cars.

yeah its two 17mm (or 19mm) bolts that you need to remove, i still have mine sitting in by bedroom from when i removed t from my car

just unscrew them and lift it out
