earth wire for amps ect

Hi, ive got a power cap and need to earth it, i aint got any earth cable left so am using the red power cable, the earth and power cable look like the same type of wire apart from its plastic coat is a different colour.

It works ok, but wanna check on here incase it starts melting or blows up or something.

btw its the huge wire, like 4 gauge or something. whether it matters or not.

the colour dont matter as long as you dont f**k them up and connect the cap up wrong because the will die

Well i did wire it up wrong first, cos i didnt read the instructions, had one before so thought i remembered how to wire it up, obviosly not. I put a power cable on the + and then a cable from the - to the amp, and it was giving me a weird symbol on the led screen. Then i read instructions and the power cable goes to the + and then off to the amp from the + as well. the - is for earth. My Bad!! Luckily it still works fine.

yeah i mean if you connect the +ve cable to the -ve side of the cap then it might go ba da boom
