Are they easy to create? I mean, I can create normal website using css and xhmtl, so it it easy enough to create them, as someone has said they could put alot of work my way if I could. Was just hoping I could learn fast lol.

Thanks.

Depends.

...is oscommerce with a template, modified quite a bit, to tie in with the forum login (only members can checkout etc.), and only display exactly what I wanted it to do - I stripped languages out, moved things around, and changed a few other bits.. it's PHP though..

oscommerce and I think zencart are 2 of the popular ones. Only ever used oscommerce though and wasn't too bad to hack n whatever

I gave up! :(

I'll use PayPal buttons! lol

PMSL.
You could use Google Checkout? They give you a web interface to make code etc.. to buy stuff! :p

Doing the product catalogue is staright forward enough if you wanted to write your own, same with the logins/user accounts. Linking through to a Google/PayPal checkout is fairly easy to do as the code is provided. Just need to "play" with it to get it to the look of you site. More info on the developer site for each checkout.

If you have the time to learn/do it yourself I'd take that option but if it's alot of money coming your way for a quick turn around look into oscommerce.

  A blue one.
I wrote my own because all the ones I tried were pretty crap.

Major advantage of writing your own is that:

1) Integrates with your site without issue!
2) You can tailor it to work exactly how you want it to.
3) No third party checkout required. Transactions handled entirely inside our site.
4) Super extensibility.

It's quite a lot of work, in our case was well worth it though. We have a site that works exactly how we want it and I can change it to operate exactly how I want. For example I've just added a discount coupon system to it that allows all manner of funky coupons to be generated!

Cubecart - buy british

Yeah I have a store I made in cubecart which is finished at www.tetra4store.co.uk

Also working on a new site at www.gadgetplay.co.uk which is not finished yet.

As you can see from both sites is how flexible it is in terms of your design. Loads of cool add-ons for it too which are free or really cheap.

As 16v_jon mentioned, they are british, and the good thing is that if you need any support during the working day they can give it to you quick.
