Economy Drive

Decided to have a bit of an economy drive this week, over my normal 300 mile driving week (no motorways, some town driving and lots of b-roads) I get around 34mpg.

This past week, again about 300 miles...

Quality stuff, did a quick calculation and it matches up with actual petrol useage pretty well too. Pleased with that considering both windows have been down for nearly every mile of that. I knew it was possible (and you don't have to drive like a granny at all, just use a bit of common sense).

I would rather return a 26 and have a blast while i am at it..good to see it can be done though.

Agree completely, although on my commute etc I've realised there isn't much point as I always end up in traffic - therefore may as well conserve as much fuel as possible for what is always going to be a dull run.

The last week has been a practice session to prove to myself it can be done, I will now use those techniques for my commute and have fun the rest of the time.

Yes there are downsides to belting it all the time. I left early from my site a few days ago and passed my projects manager on the way :clown: Woops.. Hope he was a bit blind that day:rasp:

I've never seen it that high before! (Except when I've just rest the computer and coasted down a hill). But I usually manage 41mpg on long runs - motorway / A-road.

I think I'd get bored and put my foot down after about 60 miles.

i struggle to get that out of my 1.4!

Hehe, I could get 60mpg out of my 1.2 Dynamique if I thought about it, I was aiming for 50mpg out of the Cup but I can't argue with those figures.

45mpg out of a car that hits 60mph in 6.5 seconds, can't be anything that comes close?!
