ECU Reset / Toxic Light

  Clio Sport 1.2 16V
Yesterday I disconnected my battery for a few hours to try and reset the ECU as my car had been cutting out a fair bit.

The car runs a lot better and hasn't cut out since - seems to have made a big difference.:D

Only problem now is that the toxic warning light illuminates constantly when I drive.:dapprove:

I had this problem a few months ago and changing the coil pack sorted everything out and the light eventually went off and hasnt come on since (until now).

Now im a bit confused as to why it has decided to come on again after resetting ECU - especially since the car is running very very well.

Is it ok to run car with light on?

I have my Mot tomorrow - does this mean it is likely to fail emmisions test?

Any help suggestions appreciated.

when its at the gargae ask them to diagnose the fault for you, sounds like a dodgy lambda or coil pack

my toxic warning light came on. clip diagnosed it as a missfire on one of the plugs (a common fault) so may not be the cat/lamba.

Just had the exact same problem and it was the coil pack.

Cost about £100 ish to get replaced.

Power loss through the gears and occasional power cut. Changed the coil pack and works fine!!!!!

I replaced coil pack and plugs about a month ago after having a missfire - totally fixed the problem and car has ran fine ever since - until I disconnected battery.

Car runs totally fine - no miss fire loss of power etc so im a bit confused.

I also think its a bit wierd that this has only happened since i disconnected the battery
