Eibach Sportslines and Pro's

Hi guys,

Anyone fitted any of these springs to their 172 MK2 and experience scraping on driveways etc? I am just worried if i fit these i will scrape like no tomorrow:)

Also how about going over humps etc?

The stock springs and shocks don't scrape from my experience so far.....

Cheers
Kenn.

I've got eibach pro's fitted to mine, they've dropped it a massive 10mm/15mm lol!, so no problem with scraping.

Indeed i have sportlines on my 172 with adjustable Koni's. They won't drop much more than 10mm, but personally i wouldn't want the car much lower, otherwise the numper is going to take a kick in when i park at work.

Pro's on mine and it's very rare that I have any problems with bumps, just watch out for curbs when you're parking, I've scraped the underside of the bumper a couple of times.

sportslines are great they dont drop much but make a vast improvement!!! i ve got them on my 172mk2..much more sure footed & the arse end has stopped rolling about when turning fast!!!go for them, dont worry the drop figures they give are bogus, youll be lucky if you see 25mm.so no scrapping.

Pro's dropped mine 20mm at the front and 15mm at the back. Exactly as is stated by Eibach.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info.
If you guys don't mind can you post pics of your drop with the pros and sportslines?:)

Also so if sportslines don't drop much then the pros will be like OEM lol i.e. same height as stock:p

By the way are pros and sportslines the same price?

Hmm i wonder why some peoples pros drop more than others? So i suppose if you get pros you can;t tell the diff from stock in terms of looks.

Cheers,
K.

Hi..

I've got the sportlines, and I've never had scraping underneath... I've never had wheel-rubbing either.

Mines dropped 30-25mm Front-Rear.

Eibach Pro's, measured when fitted, dropped 15mm F & R :

Hi Gaz,

Thanks for the pics:) Do you have a pic showing the front a bit more clearer?:) Just wanna see the gap:p

Also is the ride quality the same as Stock springs? And will our stock shocks lasts using eibach pros springs?

Cheers,
Kenn.

most people say the ride quality is improved over the standard, however I believe it is actually slightly harsher (but totally worth it for the handling). Stock shocks should be fine a believe (there is hardly any difference between std and pro springs)

Thanks for the pics guys!

Are you sure the last 2 pics are before and after ? heh. They look the same and the befor epic looks lower than stock, but maybe thats me:p

Gaz2130: In your opinion can you tell the diff in ride height from shanging from stock to pros?

Cheers,
Kenn.

its difficult for me to say as my car has only just come back off 17"s (as in the pics) but from what I remember you can definately see a visible change. It might be worth PM'ing Telford_Mike as he used to have a pic of his 172 (on pros) parked along side a std 172 and you could definately see the difference.

hi gaz,

thx. i was thinking about sportslines but maybe slightly too harsh a ride and not sure if the std shocks will last with those........

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
sounds like pros are the better option for you if you are worried about being to low and pushing the std shocks too much. For me the Pros were all about improving the handling of the car, not lowering it, so they were a good choice.

hi gaz,

since the height of the pros and standard don't differ much, is it because of the rates that make it handle a lot better than the stock springs?

p.s. which model eibach pros do i need to get for my 172 mk2? they all label it as 1.4,1.6,1.9,clio2 etc. i am confused on which one i need to get:)

Cheers,
Kenn.

don't know the answers to those questions sorry mate, all I know is the handling is great. Some one more techy required!

ARE YOU THE ONLY GAY IN THE VILLAGE??? Just buy the sportslines!!!

Hey,

Yeah would love to get the sportslines but according to eibach it is not really recommended to use it with standard shocks?

Also are pro's really that gay?:p

Cheers,
K.

Thats good to hear:) But i can't afford to get Koni shocks heh.

How about with stock dampers? Eibach says that only the pros are recommended to be used with stock dampers.

Kenn.

I have Pros on mine, is there a big difference in ride handling between the Pros and Sportlines as there is no difference in the ride height?

lol :) Why would Eibach lie?:p
because the pro's hardly drop and with any springs that lower more than standard there is a chance of standard shocks breaking, thats why they are covering there asses incase somone try's making them pay for them
