Electric Windows

I want to convert my manual windows to electric, has any one done this? if so how easy is it to do and what will i need to do it?

I have, but it would be helpful to know the make and model of the car. i.e. Renault Clio Mk2 Ph1 1998.

Source the interior door looms and electric motors, plumb the wiring in the door. on the car interior loom there are 3 wires, 2 orange+white ones on the drivers side and a red. and 2 orange+white on the passenger side. link the orange/white wires from the drivers side the passenger side but don't cross them this is the + signal to the other side. snip the red wire on the interior loom stick 12v to the red wire leading into the door loom and hey presto! jobs a goodun both switches work on both passenger and drivers side.

i'll post up a photo of the wires on my old loom later before i converted to a 172 i had this done on my 1998 mk2 ph1

do i just buy original clio window motors then?

yes, head to a scrap yard look for a clio with electric windows and remove the whole electric window unit as one and the inside door wiring harness. you're not that far from me. If your not comfortable doing that theres a loud of scrap yards round my area (newcastle) i'll do it for your for £20 and a pint. plus ive also got some spare interior wiring looms and door cards if you want which i paid for all to do the conversion.

that would be brillant mate, when would you be available to do it? and how much will you charge for the door cards? i will try go to a scrappy and get the parts, have you got any pictures of the parts that i will need to get?
