emission light eliminator

Hi

im getting a decat this thursday and was just wondering where i can get that emission light eliminator from? if ti does come on..

also is their any other ways to get rid of it?

i heard about a MIL Engine Light Eliminator? is that what i want and where can i get it from?

That will reset the fault codes and turn the light off, it'll (probably) just come back on though.

An idea i had was to stick a bolt where the egr sensor should go and just cable tie the 2nd lambda up somewhere but i wasnt sure if it would effect the fuelling etc.. so didnt bother

hmm that hand held cold reader for ktec is for the sport models (172/182) will it still work for the non sport?

Ype will still work.

Second sensor is for checking the cat works.
I'd have the hole made for the sensor but get something or use the sensor to bung it up just incase. Although get some way of making a cat fit for MOT time if your not having one as you'll most likly fail without one.

im getting a jig made jst in case, so i can bolt it on and off, but i have contacts shudnt need 2 ..

ok, so what difference in fuel economy will i see after the decat? is it noticable?

Wouldnt of thought much, maybe ever so slightly better. The main benefit on the 182 is it stops the exhaust rusting as the cat produces alot of moisture and the exhaust isnt built very well. dont really know on a 1.4 sorry

ok got it fitted. no light

but under hard acceleration there is a raspy rattly sound which is ticking me off.. lol, sounds like a rusty exhaust. is this normal with a decat on a standard system?

if so, would a stealth backbox sort it? if not.. what will?

It will make it noisier as you are effectively removing a siliencer from the system. Hows throttle responce??

throttle responses is better i admit that, i jst dnt like the sound.. so if a backbox is going aplify this sound..

shud i go and buy a cheap stealth system if any... or jst stick cat back on.. ?
