Engine bay Smoking!

Afternoon guys,

Mrs was driving the 182 and basically it started smoking! she rang me fearing for her life!!

Car is parked up and this is the problem.



Supposed to be going away on Wed, easy fix or not??

Looks like a split aircon pipe
Tell her to turn the aircon off.
Safe to drive on wednesday without aircon on. You will possibly need to replace the pipe which will be a hassle.

Don't be breathing that in if it is the aircon!

She would kill us so that's out of the question sadly ?

Short off replacing the whole pipe can I repair it with something?

It is the size of a pin hole to be honest.

You could tape it up for the timebeing I guess?

Not with the pressure in aircon systems you couldn’t.

My guess is the gas will all be gone now and you’ll be fine to use the car. The compressor won’t engage anyway if most of the gas has leaked out.

Like Landman says . It'll probably have leaked most or all of the gas out now . If it's only a small pin hole you might be able to fix it with this . It's worth a try for £4.25
