Engine Cutting Out

I’m having big problems with my valver in that it is starting to cut out when idling, even when the engine is warm. It just dies and when I try to restart it the engine turns over but doesn’t catch for a while. I have a full exhaust system, de-cat and IK but nothing else. It hasn’t been serviced for a while but has recently been on an electrical tester through the ECU which didn’t find any faults. The garage can’t find anything wrong and its starting to get dangerous as it cuts out on roundabouts. Any ideas?

Its tempermental, forgot to say.

How can I check blocked injectors? wouldnt that be something that shows up on the testing machine they used?

could also be a blocked fuel line, causing the car to cut out

have you been running low on petrol?

do you mean do i run it til its nearly empty, I do.

Filled it up the other day and was still cutting out this morning.

Doesnt make any difference if I have plenty of petrol left.

when you run your petrol down until nearly empty it causes all of the crap in the petrol tank to get pushed into the fuel line causing a blockage stopping the flow of fuel.

it happened to me in my old clio, i put some redex cleaner in the tank before i filled up and seemed to stop the car cutting out.

its just an idea probably something else

Sounds good, will have to try that. when it cut out did you find it hard to start it again? and was it tempermental?

Things to check -

coil pack // throttle body // potentiometer // idle control valve // dizzy // plugs and leads.

Failing that take it to a renault specialist - like me

yeah was tempremental some times it would start again straight away and other times it would take a few
