well if it was due to that then it did well as it was a daily car and done about 2 years ago :tonguewink: or are you going to say it was a bad map?

also it only ran 201bhp for a few weeks, did cams, flywheel and 182 exhaust manifold and then made think it was 208bhp?

to be fair it wasn't really standard though with the inlet changed. pas delete and pms exhaust seem to make a nice difference though.

Well the block was standard minus the bolt on turkish inlet. Those sort of figures are unheard of even for a properly timed up engine putting out 'decent' power from the factory. Your peak bhp figure looks to be roughly 500rpm high than mine I think. Out of interest did you have to change out the injectors for 197 items? My standards were at 95% duty which came down to the low 80's with 197 injectors.

was on standard injectors.
was a good one to start with though, standard map, pms exhaust, epas and matched inlets gave it about 181bhp and 165lb/ft.

Surely the duty must have been far to high when it was running 208bhp in that case?

to be honest i don't remember chris mentioning anything about it but was a couple of years ago.

thinking about it we looked at them for when we did my lads twingo but they would of been just past their limit but that was working on 210bhp boosted so must of been fine na.

will have to check when i'm up there next week, went through that many different injector options can't remember exactly what was what but do remember the stock 182 injectors were ruled out for boost.

buggered if i can even remember flow rate for them now off the top of my head!!

Standard injectors are good for around 200bhp iirc.

I'm no expect by any means but surely if they are at 95% duty (as mine were), then they probably aren't suitable. Perhaps its something that's overlooked/ignored by some or perhaps its something that can be lived with on a road car, I don't know, but what I do know is mine needed to be changed so it does seem strange that others wouldn't need to be, especially as im only running 421 cams with a standard inlet, no kebab.

Possible I suppose, but usually or at least in the past when ive had injector issues its been fairly obvious and these were fine in comparison. End of the day the car would have worked without 197 injectors but surely having standards on such high duty isn't a great thing, especially when its going to be flat out on track.
