Engine Query

Right I have a 99 Clio Grande 1.2 12v 1149cc, I have always been very confused as most of the Clios of the same age have 8 valves. It has the D.I.E.T engine and I am wondering if these were a trial version or has the 12v badge just been stuck on and it actually is 8v? Also could someone tell me the bhp of my car. Any ideas folks?

i dont think that they did 12 valve clios, i thought it was 8v & 16v (and obviously 24 for the v6)

Thats why im clueless mate. Im wondering if the 12v badge was just stuck on.

60bhp for 1.2 8v and 75 for 1.2 16v iirc

Its an 8 valve and 60hp. There were no 12 valve Clio

Thank you folks, some b*****d at Reg Vardy has stuck a badge on and ive been thinking its been a 12v all this time.

D7F is the engine code - 60bhp. D.I.E.T stands for Direct Injection Engine Technology
