Engine swap

  BMW F31
well another 1.2 16v would be the easiest as (im sure someone will correct) putting any other engine in there will require the loom etc being changed as well as the obvious engine, so basically if your going to change to a bigger engine etc you've got them all open to you.

1.4 is obviously easier to work on than a 2.0 in terms of space :)

Any Clio engine will just need to chnage all the wiring looms in the cabin and engine etc realy plus in 172 cases ideal the suspension and brakes and hubs etc,

well i found out today that the engine is shot in my 99t ph2 clio 1.2 so what can/should i throw in and how much? if i cant get a reasonably quick engine for cheap then ill have to sell it for what i can get and then save and buy either a Toyota Mr2 t-bar or a Nissan 200sx!

unless your doing all the work yourself go for another identical engine as its so much easyer and cheaper.

if you know what your doing and like a challenge go for something else. but would only be doing that if the shell/chassis is mint and work keeping!
