engine vibration noise HELP!!

  t3 corolla 116bhp
hi all

for the last 6 months ive been having a vibration noise which can only be heard from inside the car. it happens after about 15-30sec after starting my car in 1st the morning. i can feel the vibration on the footrest next to the clutch pedal but it is definitely coming from the engine bay and not any loose trim. once the engine reaches operating temp or after bout 5-10 mins driving, the noise disappears.

when i give it a bit of throttle, the noise does change pitch. if i rotate the steering on full lock from 1 side to the other, this sometimes stops the noise or irnterrupts it until i reach full lock; then starts again.

i have had the alternator and its pulleys all lookes at for bearing wear etc; all clear on that front.

ive had a new aux belt fitted which has helped the noise but not much. i thought it might be powersteering related but i took the fuse out (on the panel next to the glovebox) but the noise still came.

has anyone any suggestions cos its driving me barmy for the last 6 months!! please help

Do we know if the car is leccy PAS or pump+fluid PAS? Could be the PAS pump bearing.
but that is normally a wine noise.

Eddes point about the cambelt is one you should check imediately. The cam belt could be loose. going on this theory - The reason the noise stops when the engine is warm is becuase the whole engine expands, adding tension into the cambelt. You could be feeling vibrations as the cambelt Slaps against the covers. NOT NOT GOOD, have a check under the covers (normally requires supporting engine and removing O/S engine mount)
