Engine Warning light come on

  Renault Clio mk2
Ever since I've had my 2005 clio (mk2), the engine management light has been on. Bought it about 2 years ago. I use an OBD to clear the fault codes before MOTs but It always comes back on. So I decided I want to be rid of it. The fault code says it's something to do with the 02 sensor. So first I changed the 02 sensor, but that did nothing. Then I checked for leaks in the exhaust in front of the 02 sensor. Still nothing. I tried cleaning the contacts on the wires connecting the 02 sensor, that had no effect either. Anyone have any ideas?

You need proper diagnostics to see why the light is actually coming on, eml could be on due to fuelling issue flagging up lambda, not actual lambda fault. Cat might be knackered etc.
