Eratic Speedo

The speedo on my mk1 is very erratic. it 'shakes' a lot. if im doing 30, it will shake between 27ish and 33ish. this is fairly annoying

is there anything i can do to fix it?

get used to it mate! It's deffo normal for mk1's. You could take the dash apart and remove the needle but I wouldn't recomend that....

yep both my mk1's have done it.

although when just before my clutch went it was steady lol coincidence?! :S

Isnt this because of the feed that the sensor takes from one of the parts inside the gearbox???? My valver and my RT have both done this at all speeds below 30 Mph. wouldnt worry too much!!!

My brothers master does it i think. I know his nissan vanette did it.

mine does it but only up to 50mph then its perfectly still

my old RT does it, but my rsi 16v doesn't do it (with 16v clocks too)

Mine does this. first 172 to do 0-160 in a blink of an eye.

at 50-60, its still wobbling, but much quicker, so it looks almost still

So this is normal then? wierd thing to have on a car!

Mine only does it upto 30, anything over would be dangerous as you dont know how much you have to slow down by when going past a speed camera.
