Erratic Idle! can anyone help?

My car keeps revving when kept in neutral between 10,000 and 20,000 rpms! This has only started to happen, I have a clio sport 1.4 x reg 58,000 miles. Can any one help and tell me why this is happening and what can I do to stop my car revving like this?

I doubt it revs between 10,000 and 20,000 rpm.

20 thousand revs per minute !!! hell what you got under the bonnet there mate pmsl.

Could be a sticky throttle body, a gasket leaking or maybe a sensor

Wonder who's doing that conversion hahaha

First i'd clean out the throttle body cos it might just be sticking. Ive had that sticking a few times but not as high as 1500 to 2000 rpm.

Also had a manifold gasket go and that made it rev up high to about 1500

i have a 1.4 sport as well. my car is leaking a small amount of water and when level comes down it starts idling unevenly

Hello. If its constant I would put money on a vacuum leak. If it is a time to time thing could be ralated to a fuel injector starting to go bad, as these are known to cause idle surge. Does it have a rough idle? is it missing? Regards
