ESP and EBD



  172 EXCLUSIVE
Anyone know what the difference is between them. I have a 172 Exclusive and it has EBD, can it be turned off?????????

judging by your avatar you already have the answer to that.:quiet:

(it can be turned off yes, but you have a 172 exclusive, i dont think it comes with them, i may be wrong.)

EBD Can't be turned off.

EBD = Electronic Brakeforce Distribution

EBA = Emergency Brake Assist (not on 172's)

ESP = Electronic Stability Programme (2003 onwards I beleive)

agree the ph1 172 doesn't have either and i'm sure that includes the exclusive

Thanks, but appart from different wording do they do the same thing (EBD & ESP)

The EBD distributes the braking power so it keeps the vehicle stable, only under braking though when ABS is active.

ESP is different to traction control.

ESP controls understeer and oversteer, TCS (Traction Control System) controls wheelspin during acceleration.
