Interesting feed, from what ive read they are best off just being left without a forced as feed as such. I know Gregg ran without a feed at our RR day and got the best 172 result of the day.

no feed, really? i think the airbox will suck the hot air from the engine.

Im sure there are test/reasons that prove that a feed down this low or even to the fog light isnt the best place, and like I said Gregg's 172 with the setup im on about made the most power out of about 15 tuned 172's at our RR day.

you won't get any power advantage out of a ram air duct untill around 100mph, as greeny said you are better off with the normal place for the inlet.

As regards heat soak, the damn thing is next to the engine, so unless you plate it in gold your gonna get hat soak I'm afraid.

Hi :)

As Greeny said, i haven't got a feed on mine, the damn thing's wedged between the battery and a bracket (as can see on your pic) so the open end is probably quite well isolated from a lot of heat soak anyway.

Oh, and get more noise without it :approve:

You will get loads of flies/leaves/stones/squirrels in your filter so i'd check it often!

IIRC the best place for a CAF is in the wheel arch, something to do with the wheel spinning creating a low pressure vortex

As Icarus once said to me about my setup, (similar with same type air feed but to foglight) Forced air won't become useable till 100mph+ so not really any point, also it means any debris is less likely to make it all the way up to the filter! Plus it creates a lot of turbulant air within the corrugated feed pipe so not beneficial when entering the airbox.

Try and keep air feeds as short and simple as possible, away from any major heat in an area of good airflow.
