Excel question

Right i have a spreadsheet with multiple tabs. In one column i have salesperson number (1-3) and in the next column i have salesperson name. On another tab i have the number of the salesperson and their name ie 1 = smith, 2 = jones, 3 = thomas
How can i get excel to look at what number salesperson should be on and put their name in the correct column......if you get me?

From what you've described...you have two tabs with exactly the same data on.
