exhaust fitment help

  Ultra 197 ex 172 Cup
Hi Guys,

got a problem, i took exhaust off, as i was going to swap the center section for a newer one i got a year go for free from some guy, anyways i never fitted it cos my oem center bit was ok, and i have a different back box. i spent 2hrs unbolting everythign and having to hammer the back box and oem part to seperate it, form the 2 years of heat and corrosion, so anyways, now i had to try and put it back together, believe me i am so peed. but i can't get it to slide togehter enough, is them a way to expand or shrink one of the parts, , i did file the oem part a bit before i put it back, and i scrubbed it with a wire brush, but it won't go on easy, i tried using a jack to force the pipe togehter but it just lifts the car up. i dont' wanna go down scumfries for them to charge me £20 or something, their must be a secret to getting old exhausts to join together ?, i would shove a blow torch on it, but its next to the petrol tank. The back box pipe part goes over the rear beam like a hook:dapprove:

One of the pipes is bigger so it will slot in is't it?
If not then it won't fit togther get a joint clamp bracket.

yeah its bigger but cos its like 2 years old they have like corroded a bit from heat, i'll take it off again and give it another go at filing it down and heating the back box pipe to expand that part. thanks for your advice.
