exhaust heatshield

  clio 182 sport
has anyone had problems with it coming loose mines vibrating when i pull in certain gears what did you do to sort it thanks.

  S4, Tamora, Conti GT
yep mine did this, made an annoying rattling sound, i bought some rubber washers from wickes, and put them between the car and the heat shield, this stopped the problem.

Chances are the original washers have worn holes through the shield. Replace with bigger washers, problem solved (guide section on here if you must).

Other one is the exhaust itself may be too close to the bodywork (I have this atm), hoping a refit will solve the rattle on idle.

This.

Have a look underneath the car, you will see where the heatshield is loose.

Bigger washers will solve this, no problemo.

Get some WD-40 on the nut/washers as mine were a right mare to get off!

Soaked them for a few minutes and they came off a treat :)

Hmm, that is a strange one.

If they are knackered, it's not too expensive to get some HID's.

You will need to get some standard headlamp units though.

Ah fair enough.

To be honest, I have just returned my car to standard and love it!

I haven't had any pinking/issues with my xenons so far. (Touch wood!)

ive been toying with the idea of sportlines for the slightly lower look but i like the comfort of the ride ive got plus i just cant bring myself to change the way it came from the factory not everyone is modding crazy. i had some window tints done couple of weeks ago 2 days later i removed them lol what colour is youre sport mines titanium.

Snap, Titanium ftw!

Yeah, I've been thinking about Sportlines.

However, I am at the beginning of a Turbo conversion!!!

So I want it to look as standard as possible on the outside, just a little more poke on the inside! :race:

just a little bit more poke wow.even if i wanted new springs the wife uses it aswell and she has a say she doesnt like lowering springs. had a saxo vtr dropped 50mm on apex ride was hard and she remembers that o well

Ha ha, Apex are firm!!!

Sportlines will be a good compromise mate. The missus would never know!
