Exhaust pops

Is it normal for a 172 to get pops from a cat-back exhaust once it's warmed up?

It's nothing like the intentional pop and bangs maps I've heard on the local barryboys cars but it is sometimes embarrassing in town centres.

Mine only really burbles wouldn't say it pops,

182 manifold,
decat,
ktec stealth catback

Not been mapped yet.

I’m surprised yours doesn’t pop occasionally with the decat. Mine is mapped but it did it before anyway.
I seem to remember when I had a ktec stealth it didn’t pop then though

Mine pops a bit on overrun on stock map, however its got no cat & single silencer system. Get the occasional bang on the high rpm upshifts when its hot.

Yeah it’s odd mine does it on overrun too but the cat is still in place.

Mine pops and bangs when cold then occasionally when pushing on changing gear.
