Exhaust

Attempted to fit my exhaust I bought last night but I couldn't remove the nuts that hold the centre section of my standard exhaust to the cat.

Managed to loosen one of the nuts but the the whole thing just spins, both ends are rounded and it's near impossible to get them off with the limited tools I have.

I know one option is to get some heat on them but is there any other way of removing them? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Other than that I'll have to wait till next Thursday for my local garage to fit the exhaust.

Can you use some ones car to whip down to your nearest nut and bolt shop??? If not just cut one off and drive down like granny. lol

Hack saw or angle grinder them off. Ring a motor factor place such as euro car parts and give them a reg and ask for an exhaust fitting kit to attach the centre section to the cat. Should be a couple of pound for it and it will come with all the new washers nut bolts and springs.

I chopped mine off with the dremel. You can buy the nuts and bolts from renault for about £2.

Tried that one, wouldn't do it because I wasn't having an exhaust fitted by them. Wouldn't even break the nuts and bolts off.

I've managed to get the nuts off now, just it got to dark for me to able to get it fitted.

I tor mine off from twisting it. A bit like uri gella or what ever his called.

But if you can manage to get it off a dremel with a cutting piece should work.

Kwik Fit also put a new clamp on for free after my dodgy attemt to re clamp it.
