Exhuast Question

My mate is thinking of buying a new exhaust for his 172. We are going to fit a new one ourself as we have done a few before. My exhaust system has 2 silencers side by side, is this normal? as his 172 has only 1.

Early 172s had two parallel cats, and later ones got a single cat.
I believe if you get a new one from Renault it will be a single.
