not worth risking cleaning myself? ive read a few guides around and about and it seems a little tricky.....how does the dirt get there in the first place? does it happen to dslr's normally?
I would be a bit nervous to clean my sensor myself. I would probably just make a worse mess. You can try a rocket blower (NOT COMPRESSED AIR CAN!) and see if that shifts some of it.
Dirt gets there most of the time from changing lenses. One of the reasons why I never do it outside if it is windy and always keep the camera body face down to minimise the risk of getting shite in there.
Dunno about anywhere else but I had mine cleaned by Calumet, cost about £35 if I remember rightly. But like AndyRS said you can try and blow it out with a rocket blower first to see if that saves you a trip and some cash.
