failed MOT due to steering lock

Theres already some threads about this but no solutions.
Had my MOT today, Failed on a rear wheel bearing, Headlamp washers (not working) and the fact that my steering lock dosent work. Tomorrow is fixing day, the wheel bearing and pump i will replace but needed some guidance on the steering lock. Anyone know what i should be looking for? Im assuming 'just fitting a new one' isnt that simple, new barrell? etc
I'll be grateful for any sort of help!

It depends what is actually wrong with it. I'd start by pulling the lock barrel out of the column and check the lock engages/disengages correctly.
