Fan Belt

Ok recently Ive been hearing this sort of squeeking noise coming from under the bonnet...could it be that the fanbelt is slightly loose?

For which car? most cars now adays dont have fan belts, probably the alternator belt that is lose and just needs a tweek.

Ah right, for a BMW 523i, its a P reg I think...the latter one tho...

R in that case it might have a fan belt my old mans 98 merc has.

probably still has got a fan belt as bmw still use the viscous fan on some of their engines.check the belt tension and condition.
