Does anyone have a squeek/Rattle coming from there near side passenger seat in the back. I have and it DOES MY HEAD IN!

If I pull the seat forward and slam it back again it stops the problem, but then after about an hour it comes back ggrrrr. I have put so thick tape on the bits that I think it is coming from like the side plastic trim and the catch that holds the seat down but still wont go away, please help me before I go insane

I had this in mine so I went looking around in the boot and found the spare was a little loose as were a couple of the tools. After reseating the spare on its soundproofing mat stuff in the bottom of the wheel well and firmly pressing the loose tools into their clips and tightening the yellow plastic thing in the middle...no more squeaks/rattles, Ive also started going around the interior sticking those self-adhesive plastic pimples to stop the trim from rattling. Im after some narrow thin felt to stick around the edges of the dash cover and some of the side panels. I once had a Datsun 280ZX and this had foam everywhere as standard, there wasnt a single squeak or rattle from that car!

I also noticed, while looking around in the back that the seatbelt receptacles recessed into the seat cushions are a little loose and can be made to rattle and the lower edge of the door pillar trim is free to move about.

Hope this helps a little.

Think it most likely the last point mate, as it sounds like it is coming from the rear left seat or the rear left grab handle area. Can you explain a little more please

The bottom of the trim panel that has the front seatbels shoulder mount on it meets the sill trim panel by the rear seat cushion. On mine there is alot of movement. it may be that a clip has been broken at some time but both sides are the same. This movement could be causing a noise.

The rear seatbelt buckles are held in a plastic bracket which is bolted to the floor. This assembly is quite loose and free to rotate around its securing bolt although this is tight. The whole assembly does rattle when the seat cushion is up but could still rattle when it is down.

As if all that isnt enough the tabs at the front of the rear seats that form its hinge to tilt them forward seems to be a simple steel tab mounted in a slit in the floor or a bracket mounted to the floor. Steel on steel could rattle/squeak!

Ill be looking at all these this weekend to try to silence them!

Wicked mate, I shall have a look at them then.

I have had a closer look at mine sounds like it is coming from the top of the rear seat belt where it goes into the side trim.

I think theres a plastic trim around the hole. Plastic on plastic = squeak! On the Datsun 280ZX this is where some thin foam (similar to that in seat cushions but thin) was placed. That is what I plan to do to mine.
