OK U DONE THE 172 CONVERSION?! JUST WONDERED IF U HIT NE SNAGS ALONG THE WAY?? DID U FIT IT YOURSELF?? IM GONNA HAVE A GO I THINK,AND WELL JUST WONDERED IF I SHOULD LOOK OUT FOR NE THING OR THINGS I MAY OVERLOOK??? HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED MATE , COZ IM GONNA FIT IT ALL MYSELF, SKIRTS AND WINGS ARE THE ONES I AINT SURE ON

Hi, answering on Pretenders behalf [seeing as im his dad]. We had the front end fitted up and sprayed at a bodyshop [Dawsons] , not because it was diff. to do but because then they could blend all the paint in. Also it was the time that the car whould b off the road. The wings and front bumper r no problem at all. The skirts need a bit of time and patience as they need to b lined up correctly. The skirts on 172s are held on with clips at the top, whereas we had them bonded on with sealent called tiger seal,available from bodyshops. Also to make a good job its best to change all the arch liners 4 172 ones as they r a diff shape and fit probably.

cheers! i think i will do that with the skirts too coz the clips sound tricky. roughly how much were the 4 liners? also i maybe can get hold of some mk1 172 side skirts, do these fitt onto mk2 wings?? u reckon u could fit the wings and bumper in a day??

it took me about 5 hours to fit wings and bumper in garage with a mate its not hard just takes a bit of time, easily done in day. back bumper took me about 1 - 2 hours.

Front liners come in 2 bits so really its sort of 6 bits u need, total cost from renault is about £140 inc vat. I think the mk 1 skirts will fit as bottom of front wing is same shape, but not 100% sure. Wings and bumper in a day should be easy, it just takes time lining it all up.
