What do you think of the trophy ;) Would you choose one over the 182FF ? Think i might just bite the bullet and buy one instead of a 1.6.

also, got any High quality interior pics ?

I would deffo chose the Trophy over a FF182 and i did, i wasnt expecting much difference between them but F%$K me there is. The engine is obviously the same so dont expect anything different there, but the Trophy handles like no other front wheel drive car i have ever been in, my old FF182 was good on the corners but the Trophy kick ass on it.
Few pics, not the best of the interior but here you go:-

I traded in my 12 month old FF 182 with Cup packs for a Trophy. I didn't regret it one bit. I kept the Trophy 2 and a half years which is the longest I've kept any car.

That looks a cracking example :approve:
Cheers mate, its probably one of the highest milage Trophys going, (55500), and its still going strong. I love it and im never selling it, just think in 20yrs time there probably wont be many left and i will have one of the ones that are still alive.:)

  A4 DTM/iceberg cup
very nice piccy there. love the trophy i really do but they hold their money and I couldnt afford one at the time. next best thing then..... 172 cup.

  Trophy
Think i'll be getting one in the next few weeks tbh. Currently with a Racing Puma at the moment, thought about a 172 Cup many months ago, test drove 1 (modified) and loved it, anouther standard one I looked at was a bit of a shed. Which put me off them.

From what I've read these trophys handle pretty damn good, but I havent worked out if that means handling as in grip, or feedback through the wheel. A car can have plenty of grip, but if theres no feedback through the wheel then its a bit naff imo.

Basically is it biblicly better to drive than a 172 Cup?

  A4 DTM/iceberg cup
as standard.

better...... but not biblically.

better with a cup on some coilys and a couple of k's in back pocket imo

The feedback through the wheel is awesome, but so is the balance, turn in & grip;)

but your tempted by the dark side i hear?? ;)

Possibly, but climate & a few other issues are putting me off.

I had it once before sold a mint MK2 16v Golf to get the lastest version, the MK 3 & what apile of s**t that turned out to be.

Id certainly go for the Trophy. I bought a 182 Cup purely because i didnt like the colour of the Trophy, and ive regretted it ever since!

Sure, you will pay a premium due to their limited production run and you may well pay some heavier bills due to the suspension set up, but they will always be more desireable and command a higher resale value than the more common models.

Just make sure you retain the standard parts should you choose to modify it, as a standard car will always be held in much higher regard.

lolz.

Hmmm, 1.6 or a Thophy? Decision, decision.

Dont let J.a.m.e.s. convince you his 1.6 is just as fast as a RS.

Have you got a new job or are you financing this purchase?

Thanks everyone, really apreciate the comments and the pictures make me want one even more. Ill be getting saving now :)

Hate the colour when i first saw them, now i love them.

PS. is the insurance group the same as a 182?

  A shiny black one.
I had a choice of a 182 ff with cups and a trophy and i went for the 182ff as it had the xenons and climate, i think my cars great and have had alot of fun with it but wish id gone for the trophy now i look back!

Bought a trophy for my wife 3 months ago ( so I could have it without selling my car)

Then sold my car and my wifes original car in the same weekend.

I then took control of the trophy. As my wife liked it so much I got a Black Gold FF.

To be fair the FF is probably the better car 99% of the time.

But that 1% of the time when you dont care the trophy is shaking itself to pieces is worth it! Every body else just seems to be travelling to slow.

Interior is low rent and recaro's are awasome. (even the rattly passenger one)

What are the differences in terms of interior.

I know the Trophys have those bucket seats and cloth rears and the 182 has full leather and alacantra but are there any other changes. I.e. the door handles etc etc

Plastic on the dash instead of rubber, cheap door cards and plastic handles and the cheaper headlining. Nothing important.

I would have had one instead of my 182 FF... but at the time trophy prices were up around 11-12k. I paid £9995 for my 182.

If I had the extra ££ I would have had one no questions asked.

Drove Dave's Trophy today. Night and better than a 172/182. They are such a different experience, all else being equal a Trophy would pull away from a 172/182 on a b-road.

All depends on the driver, the bloke in the 172 might do track days all the time and the trophy driver may not.
