Remember if you want to race a car just go to compare and race... select your cars and watch em go :) ... nice to see the 172 kill the competition.

You can only race with the stats that are on the site... if you have any we are missing drop me a mail ... with the source of your stats. E.g. quarter mile or 1 km...

Ben I have changed the stats you pointed out were wrong. Thanks for the feedback. Any help is GREATLY GREATLY recieved... free beers etc :)

hi rich, got the foundations of an excellent site going there, id love to time mine too, where abouts are you based? maybe you could come to york dragway and there you would be able to get a lot of us in one place if ur not too far away. ps i have some 1/4 mile stats from my vts if that any good

Happy to travel to York. One of the many benefits of test driving cars is they come fully fueled. It would be go to get a bunch of people and we could put an story on the site with some nice pics and results.

The 16v and williams are both lighter in wieght then the 19. Consequently power to wieght ratio is more therefore it quicker all round.

I cant confirm the exact stats though.

We used a number of mags but mainly contacted manufactuers direct. We also VBOX GPS test all the cars we roadtest and have loads of stats.

Civic Type-S tomorrow for 7 days

Civic Type-R next week for 7 days

Astra GSI next Monday for 7 Days (back to back testing)

2 Pugs ones a 206 GTI forget the other at the mo...

If anybody has a standard 19 16v and lives in Hampshire I can VBOX it and sort out my stats. In fact any car that we have basic stats on. If your further away then I would need a number of cars to make a trip worth it unless I am at a circuit in the area.

You should probably have 2 sections for the Escort Cosworth - one for the Large turbo model and one for the later small turbo Lux models. Looks good tho!:)

I know there the same 0-60 time but other than that ?

So is the Escort Cossie considered a hatch not a coupe?

Thanks chaps it will be miles better within a few weeks...

We were not going to go back far but then changed our mind last minute so are playing stats catch up. Once all is settled we will go one by one through and get all the stats.

The more hits we get the more cars we get basically. MG, Vauxhall, Honda, Mazda and Pug are all on board. Others either have small press fleets or dont like web sites. Any stats or pics please send em to me at rich@fasthatchbacks.com

I think youll fine the 0-60 on the Lux is better than the Large turbo quoted anywhere from 4.9 to 5.7 for the lux and 5.9 to 6.5 on the large turbo - loads of lag but great for big power unlike the lux;)

  Was a Clio 1.8 16v

Thought the lux was jus the luxuary pack, eg. leather seats?

Earlier Escort had a T3, later 1 had a T25, but read somewhere that they had the same 0-60 of 5.7 i think.

Well the Type R stats are wrong as everywhere I have looked the type R beats the Cup where as on your site it dont... strange eh

Fords brochure figures are 5.7 for the large turbo and 5.9 for the small - I have both autocar tests somewhere and the small was faster but I filed them away somewhere safe LOL ie: I havent a clue where they are.

Thanks Rockport...

Regarding the Type R I have one from Next Wednesday for 7 days. It will be hooked up to our VBOX 2 and times put on the site... I will even do a down hill run if it helps please you ... not :)

Type S arrived today ... yawn .... still got to drive it ...

As it turns out my car (Alfa 156 GTA) is in the garage having just covered 4000 miles. The gear box has given up. So 2 months old and 4000 miles is something of a record I feel.

I will update it on http://www.fastsaloons.comwww.fastsaloons.com when I get it back... so far its been almost 2 weeks. I have heard the box has arrived today.

I used to have a Clio V6 but sadly sold it :-(

http://www.fastsaloons.com/ourcars/thumbs/alfa%20romeo/156/gta/38.jpgDid this runway have anything to do with it ?

  VW Potato

in the box to the left of your post, it says: Alfa 156 GTA V6 gone :(

so i wondered what had happened to it. (coz I love Alfas; I used to have a GTV6). Hope the Alfa doctor makes the GTA better soon.

vrrrrrrRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM ;)

If you include the VTR as a hot hatch then I must insist that the RSI is also included!

VTR 0-60 = 9.3 RSI 0-60 = 8.9

- RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT

;)

Tom

No problem .,... we aim to keep all cars below 10 seconds... I know that seems slow to most but some people think they are really flying with a 9.9 :)

I need all the stats and I can add them... any body have the RSI stats ... ?

I once drove one and the engine blew up after less than a mile... :) ... The salesman was not pleased ...

What stats are you after ?? I know the following book stats (laid out in a similar format to your site):

Clio RSI - 93 - 96

Engine F3P 1794 cc 4 cyl. Power Assisted Rack and Pinion steering, 5 speed manual, front wheel drive.

110bhp @ f*ck knows rpm

122mph top speed

Weight 955kg

0-60 8.9 secs

Sorry to rant and I hope that helps!

Tom (RSI lover)

8.9 ?? You can test it if you want on my VBOX ... then it will be 100% accurate based on two run average (incase of any slight hill).

Thanks for the info... just of to VBOX test a Honda Civic Type S ZZZZzzz

  mk2 172

craggy
