Fault code 187 trigger line problems airbag

Hy can any1 shed any light pls on the fault code "187 trigger line configuration coherency error" had 2 of these up earlier at same time welts trying to diagnose the serv/airbag light.

Sounds like someone has tried to configure it and got it wrong. 2nd hand module fitted maybe (do the VINS match)?

Yes was a second hand module. Managed to source a Clio breaking in the midlands and drove there yesterday picked up 2 side impact sensors, steering wheel squib, and module, just sorting some1 to come and re-read fault codes fingers crossed. Part numbers matched perfectly on the module. The bits taken off had issues 1 impact sensor from the sill had crack in it, and the squib wouldn't allow complete 3 rotations to the right but was fine on the left. All replaced now so hopefully the light will go out on next diagnoses.

Then there's your issue... 2nd hand module.

The hardware is the same yes but the configurations vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle depending on age and spec. You need it reconfiguring to suit your car.

Thought the light would go out when a faulty sensor is replaced without needing clip?

Yes it would but the key to this issue is two fold:-

1 - The SRS Module has been replaced with a 2nd hand unit.

2 - The code read description says "Trigger line configuration"

The unit he has installed is not correctly configured for his car and so needs CLIP.

Ok chap came round read codes etc system is all good now apart from module, sending off for reset and then should be happy days. Cheers for advice mick much appreciated.
