faulty alternater

been having a few issues with my car for the last few days since I refitted my engine,

on my trackday Monday I was having the battery and stop light come on, which means the alternater isn't charging the battery which I confirmed with my multi meter, once bump started the car would run okay, with/without epas due to high power demand from it I imagine

although last night driving home in the dark, I lost my epas, all interior lights went the headlights went very dim, when I put my indicator on the whole dash would turn off and reset like doing a test on it, all light come on etc

when trying to accelerate in 3rd or 4th the car would misfire and splutter

once I got to my friends I jumped out and wiggled the main 12v feel into the alternater and everything came back to life.

I think my friend might have damaged the alternater as when he removed it from the car as the nut was seized so just spun it off snapping the crimp of the wire with it then we removed the nut off the car.

my dash displays has also been resetting everytime I get in the car, which sounds like battery issue

any tips would be great

Thanks

if the wire on the alternator had been damaged then that's likely to be your problem, clios do weird things when the battery runs low. check the wires on the alternator and the earths, if its not putting out around 14 volts then its got a problem...
