Fecking hopeless manufacturer FAQs

I try hard....... like really hard not to delve into the pointless ramblings of manufacturer FAQs on websites. They are usually full of the most pointless and irrelevant questions, that it makes you wonder what amoeba thought them up in the first place.

I'm therefore, pleased to announce that Hitachi take this week's "We Are A Tool" Award for some of these classics. Without boring you too much (I was having little success with two Hitachi SATA drives being seen in a RAID array) - I was hoping for some questions and answers, specifically aimed at Windows XP.

However, here are some of the questions that Hitachi think are more deserving...
  • Are Hitachi drives hermetically sealed or will they work in a vacuum?
  • What is the altitude specification for Hitachi drives?
  • What is the flammability rating of the Hitachi drive?
Needless to say - absolutely bloody pointless. Unless of course, you work for NASA and need to consider whether or not the drives work in space or will survive the heat on re-entry.

Total fecking muppets.
