few bacsic mods

  RenaultSport clio 182
Whats a good suspension setup? My 182 is totally standard, i think it sits a bit too high at the back and needs dropping. Wa are the best springs to go for? The alloys are 16" so it cant be too low.

I also fancy an induction kit. I was going to go for the viper pipercross. Mainly because its the most expensive! but can i get similar results with other models and save myself a few quid.

cheers

Apex -40 springs, look good, improve handling no end and are only around £90.
As for the induction kit, buy 1m of induction hosing from Andy905 on here (£15), remove the acoustic valve in the wheel arch behind the near side hedlight and fit the new induction hose. Replace the inlet elbow with a slilicone number from Teamthink on here (£20) and re-reoute the breather pipe. Fit a PiperX panel filter to the standard airbox et voila, a setup as effective as anything else for around £65.

No you shouldn't need to upgrade anything else, although a strut brace is always a good buy at around £60.

I wouldn't bother with an induction kit, any open kit will lose you bhp and you'll need to fit the uprated air feed anyway to limit the power loss. As for the elbow change and fiting of the panel filter, it takes around 20 mins all in. It seriously isn't worth spending the money on anything else induction wise. I can guide you through the process if you like.

There's almost no such thing with 16s. You can slam it with little or no rubbing on a suspension kit or coilovers.

If you're just after springs though then I wouldn't go below 40mm as it puts too much strain on the original shocks unless you upgrade them too.

For panel filters, ITG are regarded very highly on here, and Hillpower do good silicon elbows.

do as this man says, in my opinion vipers are pish and modding your standard airbox like this guy says and adding a pannel filter is better

I thought Apex -40mm on standard shocks = seriously reduced lifespan of the shocks ? I know 2 guys who said they were shot within 6 months

My rear shock went after 2 weeks on Apex springs, but some people have had them on for ages. Just luck of the draw.

Don't bother with the inlet elbow either...looks nice but will make f-all difference peformance wise.

K-tec splitter is nice....just fitted one and I'd recommend it:D

go eibach sportlines for springs, much better spring all round. As for induction kit, do as the len beach said.
