Filter / Cross-over / Something like that

  Listerine & Poledo
Evening.

If I wanted to fit 5" mid-bass speakers in the rear pods, what would I use to stop treble getting through?

An in-line filter or similar I'm guessing, but I'm too dim to know what I'd be looking for.

Advice welcome, abuse expected.

The cheapest option is probably a crossover to stop frequencies over a certain amount getting through. You could also use the other part of the crossover for the tweeter (the higher frequencies). Maplins and places like that will do them, but don't know how much a Car Audio place would charge.

Cool.

I'm not looking to add tweets in the back though, just re-filling the existing pods. If it's too much of a bugger about, I'll just bang some co-ax in there.

I thought I heard you could wire a resistor or similar into the wiring and it would do the job

Just a thought, but i just fitted woofers straight in the rear pods and it seems that pretty much all i get through them is bass.

you'll need an inductor to filter out high frequencies

not a clue what size you need
