Final reminder for pics/video...

from those that went to Belgium. Im going to finish the CD(s) towards the end of this week so need everything in the next couple of days. It looks like itll all fit on 1 cd maybe as well. we need more video, so who was it that done some filming?

dtwd, what format do you need the video in? I have about 40 mins of video which would be nice if it was edited and tidied. At the moment its just in whatever file Pinnacle Video Editor pulls it off the camera in. Very large file though!

Whatever file format you like. Pinacle, I think that uses Motion JPEG compression. But I may be wrong, it certainly used to anyway. I would say compress it into DIVX but you will loose quality when I edit it again. How big is the file now? If its motion JPEG its probably near 40 gig isnt it? Which is odviosly to large to send to me. Do you have a dvd writer?

Ive got some video but its probably not worth it as its from my camera so only 320x240 or something and a bit wobbly - I do have me doing almost 140mph tho but thats really jumpy too.

Jas why dont we wait a while, get everyones stuff together and make a good job of it? Do you want the video editing and a front end making, or just the video?

Can you make a DVD thatll play on a normal DVD player out of this stuff? That would be soooper cool!

If i had a dvd writer I shouldnt think it would be to hard. I can do VCDs without to much trouble. If you want menus then that will take a bit longer. Same for DVD really. Thing is, the quality of the video isnt really probably high enough to warrent a dvd. Best off sticking with a multimedia cd or dvd.

Scribbler, Ill wait for your video, is it in the post?

DTWD, Ill see how big the file is when I get home. I dont think well really have enought time to send to you on CD then you edit them. Theres a lot of clips, all in different sizes/formats. It might just be easier putting them on CD under the peoples names that filmed them, all as seperate files.

Jilly, did you get my email about your pics?

I could put it onto dvd easily but like DTWD said the quality probably wouldnt be good enough to warrant it.

PS. creating dvds with full menus from scratch isnt easy.. the people who do it in hollywood get 6 figure salaries.. took me 1 month to get it down properly and learn all the linking stuff.

_kdf, well get you to do our video next year, if we get everyones film from source we could do a dvd, or we just use 1 camera for all filming!

Jas if you do, let me do the sound. I can do video editing alright, but for sounds...well thats a completely different story. If KDF can send me the editied video on dvd and the audio on a seperate cd (use a zipped up wave file) then I can watch the dvd and the just edit the sound track off the cd and add stuff to it. Then send the audio track back and KDF can put it back into the movie. I have done it like that before, its pretty easy. Its upto you really, if you want a top quality sound on the video then its the way to go, if you want something thats a bit crappy then just use the standard sound.

Ye that would be kewl, its only like 50p per dvd-r nowadays anyway.. so not too expensive.

Ok then, its a deal, aslong as its what Jas wants.

As for swearing, thats easy to remove. But what is nice is when you stereo spacialise the sound so it fills the speakers aposed to just being just boring. I can show you...or let you download a sound demo if you want.
