Finally machine polished

  BMW M135I
Well, this is how the car stands after a machine polish the other week and an application of Poorboys Blackhole yesterday. Only a quick few pics from one side but it gives the idea of how the car looks.

Still the odd swirl but for a first attempt I'm happy.

Black Hole is good quickly going over a panel at a time with the machinepolisher. Even without correct the paint with a proper polish first.

I have a black works van and couldnt be ar5ed in polishing the whole thing, so tried the bonnet and parked it in the sun to see how good a job it had done.
Very impressed for the 10mins it took.

Good results there Danny, expect you enjoyed it and gained some satisfaction from it too. :approve:

looks amazing, I'm surprised at how much gloss and wetness it gives off.

What did you use to protect it?

what polishes did you use? I used the Menz 85RD and 85RE on my pearl black but found the cut wasn't enough for full correction (probably got about 85% ish) even after 2 hits with the 85RD Power Finish. still very happy but next time i think i'll up the compound to Menz S100 Power Gloss.

good effort, dont take this the wrong way because i like the look of the car but as soon as i looked at the pics the first thought i get was drug dealer lol

Looks great mate. I need to do mine. Just gotta wait for the weather to be right, and find the spare time over a weekend to do it

Well played mate, black hole is one of those prooducts that anyone can use, think of it as a modern version of SRP if you will without any drawbacks. :)

Looks great anyway dude and people forget that you can't keep correcting your car every 2 months you'll have no paint left.

Blackhole is a great top up product.

Yeah, I did enjoy the whole process and is something new I have learnt to do so all in all Im happy. My mum is going to let me have a go at her VW Golf next which will be a different story as I have read they have hard paint so will be something else to enjoy and learn.

Used Collinite Marque D'Elegance 915. Its all in the prep stages that brings out the shine as I have read many times on detailing world and on here occasionally.

Im the same, I probably have only got 75% correction using Merzenza 203s. Im tempted to go on one of the detailing courses/maching polishing to try improve what I have done already and see where I can achieve that little bit more.

Dont think drug dealers look after their cars this well :rasp:

That opinion from the car or whats in the background?

I machine polished the car 2 week ago but finding the time or having a day when the weathers nice/decent can be annoying.

the car, lol dont get me wrong iv been back on this thread looking at the pictures more and more and i really like the car and have huge respect for people who actually take pride in their car instead of running them into the ground. it was just my first thought lol
any more pictures?

Lol, no worries, everyone has an opinion, some people like the car and a few have said they arent too keen on the wheels etc but its something different from the "norm" on here and I prefer it as it gives it a bit of colour as im not a big fan of the stealth look.

Ive got older pictures but not many from the updates on the car, when I get some more I'll be updating my progress thread which is over a year old as I have added a cup spoiler and other things.

On VW Paint i get great results with Menz Intensive Polish PO85 RD3.02
I think its now called PowerGloss or something, I have loads left in the garage so dont need to know the new name til I've run out lol

Finish off with Final Finish and its a cracking combo.

What pad you use JMR?

Ive only got Menz power finish 203s and Menz Final Finish 85 which came with the kit but was told by Polished Bliss that it is capable to correct VW paint with as he had a few times before.

This is the kit I bought

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb-das6-intermediate-paint-polishing-kit-cat1.html

I use the yellow SFX1 Sonus pads [cutting]
white SFX2 polishing pads
blue SFX3 finishing pads

I think they may be different colours now, but the SFX numbers are the same.
