Finally ordered some new tyres

Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3s, 4 of. The existing Contis are practically slicks on the outer halves, and have been a bit dodgy recently in the heavy rain, even when not giving it some.

I must heartily recommend Dave Sheldon tyres of Manchester. Theyve fitted tyres before for me and done a good job, and theyre a cracking bunch of lads. (recommended by the local Seat Lookers dealer as well when the g/f asked about alloys)

Theyre listed as a fitter for Mytyres who were doing the F1s for £47 (195-50/15s). I asked them at Dave Sheldons about bringing the tyres in for fitting and it was £8 per tyre.

BUT he said that theyll get the tyres in and fit them for £53 per corner. Top one.

It may be a longer journey home on wednesday night, specially since the g/f is away til the end of the week.

Anyone tried these on a Clio yet? They cost less in 195 form than the standard 185 Contis. By about £20 a corner.

The F1s are superb - youll love em in the wet! You can just plough through standing water like its not even there!

Slightly soft though so tyre life isnt that great, but you wont care in winter when its raining...

goodyear nct5s are great in 195 50 15s. check out the stats at http://www.mytres.comwww.mytres.com . there as good if not better than eagle f1s and last longer. they are really quiet too compared to my old firestones.

Dave Sheldons just quoted me £79.95 a corner for Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3s 195/45/15.....carnt see why its £26.95 a corner dearer for 45s, as opposed to Mikes 50s ???

Could be down to how many cars require the size. If its a rare size then the cost goes up.
