finishing stages after lacquer..



  clio 172 flame red
i am going to spray my wheels and want to know how to get the best finish after lacquering them. How do i get them a mirror shine or glossy finish ? becuase after i usually lacquer it doesnt come out as glossy (i.e body shop shine).Is there anyway i can get close to this finish with a can?Does polish help to get a better finish? sorry i have no clue. cheers

once you've lacquered it, your best bet would be to leave it to fully harden (48hours to a week) then use cutting compound or a scratch remover type t-cut. then give it a good polish, and finally a wax. there are other methods, but this is probably the easiest one to do by hand, with the exception of wet sanding it - but this can be difficult.

any good polish will do - mer, megs stage 2 etc.etc.

just get some cutting compound in a tube from halfords - g3? about a fiver me thinks

cant you lend a compressor and gun off someone and 2k laquer it? single pack laquer wont be really any good for wheels as they have a lot of wear n tear. will flake in no time
