Sounds a good start, lose the Gold Class Wax and a flexi blade.

Meguiars NXT is not bad on Black Gold if you want something of the shelf. Other wise there are a few other alternatives that look really good.

stay away from gold class, its a pain to apply and get off. I really would get the #21 off Blue 182, its so easy to work with and makes black shine.

The car had been in the last month or so really well machine polished though.

So, Would I need a polish and a wax or just one.
the more I look in to it the more confused I get
I just want to get a good package to get me going and keep my car looking good.

Easy route is Polish and Wax in one.

Better route is a polish first then, follow up with a coat off wax.

A good starter package would be Auotglym Super Resin Polish and Meguiars #21 Sealant.

#21 Synthetic Sealant


Creates noticeably deeper, darker, more reflective surface. The Synthetic polymers bond to the paint to give long lasting protection. Helps to reduce the appearance of fine scratches and swirls. Very easy application and removal.
