First Ever "Proper" Detail

...well, First Ever "Proper" Detail... With everyone claying their cars recently on here, it finally made me get in gear and get round to doing it, after saying i was going to do it before FCS last time round, lol.

The car has never ever been detailed before, only ever just given a quick wash over........Anyway, its not a full detail, i just spent half the day claying it! seemed to take forever, from around lunchtime to 6pm! probably because of there being so much crap on the paint! Some marks and dirt the clay wouldnt bring off no matter how many times i tried, but the paint is sooo smooth now compared to how it was like sandpaper before.

After claying it i washed it with gold class, and dried it. I found it hard replicating the shine just from a wash in pictures, but you can definatley tell the difference in the metal. Also, just wondering opinions on....

- Orange Front Badge?
- Orange Wing-Mirror Covers? (Could either look good, or gash, lol)
- Black Wing-Mirror Covers?
- Orange Dash Strips?

ignore the mess on the inside its a work in progress.

Looks good mate, if it's just been clayed and washed I'd recommend getting it polished, sealed and waxed also - it'll protect your hard work and also look shinier!

I'd say if you're going to go for an orange theme, then do the badge, mirrors and strips. Could look pretty trick :)

well mate you asked the following

- Orange Front Badge?
- Orange Wing-Mirror Covers? (Could either look good, or gash, lol)
- Black Wing-Mirror Covers?
- Orange Dash Strips?

my answer is orange as always;)

but as always mate fantastic work......wanna clay the TT?? LOL

its looking as nice as ever , go for all of them . although the mirrors may sound a bit drastic , but it could just pull it off .

The boy done good. Love the photos. Not sure about the orange mirrors, must be a way you could gauge it without actually going all the way before you're sure?

Got any more photos of that Middo? Looks quite interesting. Just realised that I've been modelling my Clio plans based on a photo of your car, Steve. Good job with that too.

Cheers fella, certainly different! Well I like it how it is Jordan, but if you're doing other bits orange then I don't see why not, especially if you have some spare covers.

If I was you, buy one of those window marker pens from a stationary shop. The kind that write on windscreens. Colour all your orange bits in, see if you like it. If you don't like it, it just washes off with water!

i was going to use some sonus green, but, i had to get specs of silver paint off the boot and i was told the sonus would be too fine and would take ages, ended up using some megs clay, like 12 quid from ebay!
