These are my first pics taken with my Nikon D40.

I'm not sure how to use all the setting as yet thought!

Then I get home after being at my brother-in-laws and this little fella appears!

He looks alot smaller on the pic than he did in real life!
Mr Dyson sorted him out though...

Nice shots, but if you want to get that close your gonna need a macro lens! And sadly... thats not a cheap option for the D40!

I had it set to 'P' what ever the fcuk that means!

Program mode.. Fair enough, never used it personally, mines usually set on S/A/M for project/portrait stuff, Auto if I'm in a rush 'out the bag' sort of thing or at a meet and wanting to not mess about.

Still good shots though.
