  Clio 172 Cup
Well time has come to post up on the Forum I'm based in Durham.

Have recently purchased an 03 172 Cup which is a great little car, been undergoing the usual new car process of getting it perfect! Already found this fourm very handy with advice on little "problems" along the way! Still adjusting to being back in a smaller car last few have been a bit bigger (Audi A6 & Subaru Forester XT). But due to now doing virtually no miles I thought the time was right to get back into a small fun car!

Thanks both, quick update as to what I have done in the last month incl a few further details on the car:

Clio 172 cup (Mondial Blue - Turini alloys)
55K on the clock

Have mostly used Mendal Motors Thornaby (who have been great):

Full Service
Cam belt
Aux belt
New dephaser pully
New centre & back box
New discs and pads all round
New clutch cable - Made all the difference to the smoothness of the clutch

Alloys refurbed (SEM Sunderland - Fantastic job)
Fully machine polished & Diamondbrite
Headlight project to remove corrosion now looking as new

Projects still to do:

Steering wheel refurb (black leather - Blue stitching)
I'm sure some more things as I come across them!

Welcome. I'd be a little hesitant about getting your belts done by a non specialist, but then again they could do them just fine.

Love a good cup. Get some pictures up.

Welcome mate, car sounds nice, ive just sold my cup and got a 182, fantastic cars arnt they!

Thanks for the welcome, yeah seem great I was looking 182 for a long while but just couldn't find anything that wasn't going to cost a fortune putting back to standard. I usually like my cars as they came out of the factory or if modified I like to have done it myself as you never know what parts have been bolted on, very happy with my 172 so far and intend to keep it for a good while.
