NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

it does not have to be done at the dealer.

Under block exemption rules anyone can service your car PROVIDING they use OE parts and not Third party jobbies.

is it also right what the guy on the phone said that they need to re-charge the air con, change the brake fluid and the timing belt, I just expecting change of plugs and air filter and maybe a change of oil?

what the f**k.

No the first service is

Change oil
Change filters
Perform safety checks

If the warranty specifies that the service must be done by a dealer, then that is that. And they will piss you about if you dont.

I have heard of block exemption, but the warrenty "must be serviced by official dealer" statement overides this (must be Renualt trained mechanics for example).

If it dosent state dealer serviced as part of the warrenty conditions then Tomclio is correct. I havent checked to see what the Renault one says. Still wouldnt bugger about for the savings your gonna make though.

No doubt someone will disagree on this

No no ! A laugh would be something funny ! They are aiming to penetrate you mate ! I doubt they would have the courtesy to lube you up first either ! OUCH !

Yeah that would be me, the new rules state that forcing a customer to deal with the dealer network only is against eu law.

despite what that old document says you are allowed. best to phone renault uk and ask them about block exemption and how it affects your warranty. (please tape that call i fancy a laugh)

ill get hold of renault somehow then and post up there reply. its a shame really built up a really good relationship wi the salesman, (he just sent me £50 for referring someone to him) and then they go and try and screw me over probably losing custom for them in the future

I called Renault UK about this recently. Toms right as long as the garage is not your mate dave and his adjustable spanner you can get it done anywhere. But £300 is a load of cack, the most Ive seen a Clio first year service is £185.

Fair enoughski !!

They must have change the document or version since I saw it because it was never that clearly stated before. Probably find post 02 warrantys have changed the statement on servicing requirements

But remember if you pay Peanuts you get Monkeys !!
