First time charge..

Do you really have to charge a brand new mobile phone for a silly ammount of time nowadays? Whats best?

You are blatently suffering from 'excited schoolboy' syndrome.

It's a rare condition that affects blokes when they get new gadgets and can't wait to play with them.

I have control and so charge it fully for more than the allotted time, yes, especially as mobile phone batteries are normally cack to begin with.

Umm yeah and no. I'm going away tonight and i've activated my new sim so didnt know if its best or infact needed to give it a big charge before i take it away..

It's not usually crucial these days as most phones will have lithium-ion batteries which are not susceptible to any memory issues. Which phone did you end up getting?

Not required, but i would empty it before its next charge.
