fitting a ph 1 airbox

  monaco 172
Im thinking about getting a ph1 airbox for my 182 because my pipercross pannel needs a clean soon so instead of buying the cleaning kit i thought id try a different filter so thought about the ph1 without the cafs so i get a bit of noise from it.

anyway the main question is do i just need the box and filter or do i need to get the bend from the throttle body to go with it or will my current 182 bend fit with it?

Final question, does anybody know how much it is from renault?

if i buy a ph1 box does it have a hole for the oil return pipe or whatever the other pipe is which goes into my ph1 box bend?

Use your existing bend mate, much easier. But as said above, it's a tight fit!
I think it's worth while. (IMO of course)

Its just ive seen one on ebay that comes with the ph1 bend aswel but if its going to be a hassle fitting the oil return pipe ill just get the box and use my bend.

when you say tight fit, is it tight as in it is likely to put unnesesary (forgot how to spell lol) stress on something?

It won't put any unnecessary stress on anything, but if you can get one with a bracket and strap it will help with securing the box.
The only thing I found was that if you wanted to put CAF's using the original bend won't give you the correct angle on the box

It should do yeah but the caf pipes that come with it will only be long enough to end just below the head light. That's another reason why I bought desperate caf pipe to run to lower grille and I didn't want it too loud as I'm getting to be a boring sod lol

I would use the 182 bend. As said it seemed to be too tight a fit with the ph1 bend. I couldnt get it all together with the ph1 bend. Give it a try tho.

Use your ph2 bend, I tried it with a ph1 one and it started rubbing a piece of metal through my ECU wires due to the ph2's electronic throttle body being wider than the ph1's cable type one. Not good!

cheers guys. not sure weather to go for it or not. 50 quid delivered with a green cotton pannel filter in it ? worth it?

Alternativly just buy a 90 degree silicone bend and a use a mini filter on the breather pipe, that would usually connect to the standard intake pipe.
