Fitting number plates?

  182
Im wanting to fit my number plates but without the screws that would normally be fitted with! Thought maybe double sided tap but dont want it to fall off!
What have others used
cheers

Are you buying new ones? They come with double sided pads. Halfrauds' velcro coins are popular too.

I went for the double sided sticky pads from Halfords. Got some from my local motor factors, but first time I washed the car the plates fell off so watch out for crap ones!

The velcro stuff is also good. The previous owner used it on the rear plate of my car and when I came to put the personal plate on, we couldn't get the velcro off so it's still there!

I've got Sticky pads holding my 3/4 plate on and then velcro on that holding a big plate on!

Never fell off!

Have screws in at the moment, but there going all rusty in stuff and what to be able to change plates easy, getting new ones!
So velcro stuff is the best, just cut to required length and stick it to the car and plate?
cheers

I got a roll of double sided sticky foam from B&Q for my plates. Works fine and they've been on a year!

Although my Clio will have velcro pads so I can remove the plates easily for trackdays.

Aren't you guys over looking a big problem with just using velcro to stick your plates on?! I do agree that it looks better ( no arguements there), however there is a massive wave of number plate steeling going on to do petrol payment jumps and to do robbery crimes and speed through enforcement cameras. It's far easier to nick your plate than to steel a car. Just saying that's all.

Thats why I screwed mine on because if they get nicked it causes a lot of inconvenience and you have to get new plates, can't drive the car without them etc.

For a track car or if your running illegal plates then velcro is better so you can remove them easily.
