FK1000p - WOW!

After purchasing FK1000p to seal my wheels, I'd seen many people get great results from putting it on the body work as well. So about a month ago when I got a day off, I coated her up. Since then i'd been to cardiff and back in a day (9hours of motorway miles, in torrential rain) and then motorway miles for another month. So as you can imagine the car was filthy.

Set about snow foaming first, which im still yet to see great results from. Still leaves a lot of crap on the bodywork. However left that to soak and did the wheels. It seems I'd have done a half arsed job of one of the front wheels and looks like i've got some brake dust burnt on, which will need to be sorted asap (recommendations for that?).

Cut to the chase, I used my usual 2bm with mitt, born to be mild. All I can say is the dirt glides off the paint work and sits there whilst the water beads immediately. Then using an open hose it glides off the paint work.

Its never been so easy to wash the car! Topped it up with dodo juice red mist and looks awesome.

Ill add some pictures soon. I'd recommend fk1000p to anybody, I'm super impressed.

Looks great!

FK1000p is great stuff, I last put some on my car 6 months ago and it still beads well today.

Get some FK425 as a quick detailer and it tops up the protection as you use it :)

I've currently got a bottle of dodo juice red mist that I got for xmas, So ill burn through that first then consider some of that.

FK425 is good...I always find myself buying one of those and using that as my drying aid.

I have Zaino Z8 as well which beats FK425 all day...although that only gets used after a fresh polish/wax.

So yes id recommend FK425 :) Better then red mist and its pink in colour which I like.....being a bumder :)

Z6 blows them all out the water.

Don't buy red mist and Z8 will affect the FK, use Z8 only for top ups after a few weeks of washing.

Z6 is what you want for wiping down and restoring gloss.

Mmmm Pink, Smells a bit Bubble Gum like to me as well!

I use it as a Drying aid mainly to, but i'm sure even then its still 'leaving a little something' in the way of protection behind.

425 £27.95 for 1 Gallon - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/valet...-ultra-slick-polywipe-1-gallon-/prod_595.html

Red Mist £9.95 for 250ml - http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Dodo_Juice_Red_Mist_Tropical_1.html

Value for Money :S

They are 2 entirely different products though.

Red mist is pretty much a srpay sealent/top up product.

425 is a wipe down product.

Ah I always used 425 like a Top Up Product along with Drying Aid as on Fresh paint its always left a layer of protection (OK its not long lasting, but there is deff something there)

I have not used Red Mist myself as read it was 'not all that' and didnt they have issues with the early batches being difficult to remove?

Well protection being the left behind product yes but you could say that about anything. IPA would leave it's own stuff behind aswell.

As a drying aid it's fab.

Most of my 425 is currently 'Protecting' my Carpet in the car  where it leaked out... At least the car smells nice inside

I splilt a little Snowfoam in the rear passenger footwell 8 months ago, still looks foamy!

Lol, had the same thing the other day, but with Original Source Lime shower gel...

I f**king love limes, so I basically wee a little everytime I step into the car!

Thinking of me? Original source burns my ballsack.

No not the mint and teatree shite. Limes or Lemons one. If you like lime/lemons as much as I do, you'll orgasm in the shower each morning FLOL!

I have to have lemon juice in everything. Give me a Corona, lime. Thai meal? Lime. Chicken? Lemon. Gambas? Both!!

I also have Werkstat Acrylic Glos.

I use 425 as my drying aid to add some gloss/shine. After a few weeks I might top it up with either Z8 or Acrylic Glos...im unsure which I prefer out of those.

And i would still rather use 425 over Z6 for wipe downs "value for money"

Some different opinions here. Like gally pointed out red mist is a top up, and thats basically what I wanted. Something to restore the gloss and add just a quick layer of protection.

I have Red Mist..used it twice and its 3 years old now.

It does its job but destroys beading..I like to see beading :)

I'd use 425 as a drying aid and for shuts for wiping down but the finished product deserves the best QD, the best is Z6.

To help dry your car with a towel you can spray some products on the car to help dry it quicker.

Thought as much, just wanted to clarify. From the first coat of 1000p water does just glide off ready for drying with a microfibre.
Have you used both 425 and Z6? Whats the 'finish' like in comparison? I presume from you comment that 425 is better as just a drying aid? Where as Z6 give a better finish?

Also, I've been looking for ages for that Cif Profession glass and multisurface cleaner and cant find it anywhere in shops. Is it only available at places like molefarmers? (which carry a big delivery charge!)

Yeah mate, it's not a consumer item.

It's great as a cleaner but use something like Gtechniq's C3 on your windows once and you won't have to worry about them for a while.

Z6 is the daddy of wipe down products, after washing and waxing I always always finish with Z6, it'll boost the finish imo like no other QD will.

425 can be used in the same way but it's cheap so I use it as a drying aid and maybe to wipe down parts that aren't seen.

Ok that's great. The z6 looks good as a 16oz bottle can do a car 20-30times apparently, but does cost the same as a 32oz bottle of 425. I couldn't warrant buy a gallon of the stuff either.

Yes but that makes no sense, apply that logic to every walk of life and you'd never leave the house ffs!

I want want the best, the same reason I bought Glasur over a tub of Autoglym, it's better. The same reason you buy a car over another car, it's better.

I'm fed up people saying Z6 is expensive! FFS! Use some distilled water from Asda then FFS!
